Elementary and Middle School String Orchestras
Bachus Conservatory's Elementary and Middle School String Programs emphasize skills development from Grade 2 through Grade 8. Orchestra participation encourages self-confidence and offers young musicians a consistent practice incentive to prepare for rehearsals. Members learn their pieces with their private music teacher, practice at home, and come to rehearsals ready to perform together as a group. Through team coordination, rehearsals help to develop better listening skills, music reading skills, fine motor skills and culminates in a sense of performance accomplishment. Members frequently develop lasting friendships and have lots of fun!

An Ensemble is a group of musicians ranging from a few members to a full orchestra. Small ensembles provide musicians with the opportunity to perform beautiful music written especially for a limited number of instruments.

Being part of an Ensemble is an invaluable and exciting learning experience. Each member substantially contributes to the ensemble and produces a musical line in harmony with the other members! Ensemble participation encourages the development of skills such as listening, phrasing, counting, intonation, tone colors, rhythm, teamwork, cooperation and responsibility.
